| Read More...Hi everyone! I'm glad you found my Xanga page. If you look at the entries below (all both of them), you'll see that I'm not updating this nearly enough. That's mostly because I have my own blog running on my own web site -- www.glenngutierrez.com -- so it doesn't make much sense to keep updating both with the same content. Sorry if this leaves you feeling robbed of my literary importance to the world. That's a joke, by the way.
I'll leave this page up so people searching for me or my work can still find me. My latest thoughts will always be on my proper blog, my personal stuff on my MySpace page, and my music on Planet Hype. Thanks for stopping by!

| The first I heard of this was from someone who left a comment on my MySpace profile. Then I got a couple of text messages from some very excited friends (Hi Liss!).
Apparently, Blender magazine set out to name the best 500 pop songs released since 1980. By their count, the original pool was almost three quarters of a million tunes. After eliminating 743,102 of them, the final results were in.
I wrote, produced and mixed one of the 500.
It's song number 239 to be exact. "Do You Miss Me" as performed by Jocelyn Enriquez is actually described pretty well by Blender writers, not something I'd usually expect about dance music. They correctly understood that it's not just a song about self pity, but an actual taunt directed at the former significant other. I love double-meanings, and I use them whenever possible. To me, that's what makes a good song even better.
And that's all. No ceremony or television show. No awards or trophies. In my experience, the artist gets all the glory in those situations anyway (and takes home the award, go figure). It feels good, though, and it's something else for the resumé and/or grandkids. My name is not even in the article, so a least I haven't used up my 15 minutes of fame. That means it's time to get back to work.

| Download a brand new FREE track from Sharyn Maceren!
We've started going through all of our new material, deciding which
songs will make it on the new album and which songs will not. It's a
gut-wrenching process because we love every single song. But we need to
make decisions based on more than just that, so we're getting it done.
To make the process a little easier, we'd like to let some of the
rejects have their day in the sun. We'd also like to get you on our
email newsletter, so you'll know when the new Sharyn Maceren and M:G
albums are done. So we've uploaded the track to the Files area of our
Y! Music group. All you have to do is sign up at the link below, and you'll be able to
download the track. Easy like pie.

Hope to see you there!
